Tahoe Backcountry Snow is a simple weather and snow blog tracking backcountry ski conditions, weather observations, and winter storm forecasts in the Tahoe Sierra. Please refer to the Sierra Avalanche Center for specific avy conditions and forecasts.

Originally started as a personal challenge to see if I could write about weather and snow consistently, it’s since become a portfolio project for my developing weather forecasting career. I work in natural resources, but am also completing an Undergraduate Certificate in Weather Forecasting from Penn State University. I’d like to apply my decades of experience and knowledge of the Sierra to my growing forecasting expertise to give clients sound mountain weather forecasts for business or pleasure.
